@madcollective You're still dodging the question. I have never seen anyone claim that they enhance the lives of any animal in captivity and I can't see any claim like that take seriously. Even the place that you mentioned still charges for tours. Which makes it fairly obvious that even they need to bring in a profit to stay running.

Oh my gosh run! It's escaped into the dark abyss of my mind!

@madcollective You're left with 3 choices in this situation. We let the animals free where they will die. We keep them where they are now but don't allow them to breed and stop taking in any more of these animals even if it means the survival of the species or we continue to do as we are now. There is no option to keep the animals without "exploting them". Nobody has the money to do this. Throwing these whales back into the wild would be like putting you into a forest with nothing and-

...donations wont get you very far in this world. You need a steady revenue.
Not trying to insult, but I am ignorant of your sources of information that you base your opinions off of. Please enlighten me further if you find the time or desire. :)

Hi "madcollective", thank you for replying to my reply ;)
SeaWorld does need to use some of its animals in order to generate a profit (but the animals are well cared for and are trained with positive reinforcement only, you don't want to piss off a killer whale), a good amount of that profit is used to fund the rescue/rehabilitation of other animals, as long as humans negatively impact the environment and the animals, somebody needs to help reverse the damage, and sadly a few charitable donatio
SeaWorld rehabilitates thousands of injured animals every year around the world, only the animals that are deemed unable to return to the wild due to domestication or permanent disabilities are kept to assist in helping the guests become excited about animals and conservation of our planet. SeaWorld also pours much of its profit into costal cleanups, research centers for the better understanding of taking care of sea life. Obviously it has to pay it's employees and utility expenses, so random d

@kenerstad Hi there! Thanks for sharing your point of view. However, I still have to disagree and say that Sea World, as well as many other marine entertainment exploit these beautiful animals, whether they're actually "unfit for the wild" or not.
Thanks for watching!

@madcollective telling you to survive. So in the end you're going to have to choose if you want them to die, force them to live alone and possibly doom a species or leave things as they are.

@dilt4 Hey, thanks for the comment! I'm glad this video is starting so many great conversations. Everyone is welcome to their own opinion, here.
I'm just on the side that thinks these beautiful creatures survived for years and years without our interference in the first place.
While a small percent of Sea World is used for helping hurt animals, the other large percent is the use of intelligent mammals for entertainment. Animals taken from the ocean, who aren't injured. Just some thoughts. :)

@madcollective You're still saying that you want to help them but don't give any solution. It's fine that they survived for years and years without us being involved but that isn't helping in a world where we are expanding every day.

@dilt4 Places like Sea World say that they "enhance" the lives of marine animals in captivity from problems you see in today's natural environment. However, the truth is that marine animals adapt both physically and behaviorally to survive these issues in the wild.
Great alternatives to SW are places like Mote Marine Laboratory in Florida. No shows and no permanent rehab residents. Proving that you don't need to exploit these animals to protect them and observe them!
