  • GREG MAY of Orlando, FL says: "The Edge of Night" was a television classic. It was the first soap to attract a male audience. This closing title was filmed in 1967 when EON went to color. EON recieved its highest ratings beginning in the late 60's when Henry Slesar became the new head writer."

  • I wish someone would post the end credits when the had an ad council psa during the credit roll.

  • @skingerskanger The preacher says, "Turn in to tomorrow to 'The Edge of Night' or else you will be a sinner!" LOL! For the longest time I thought I was the only one who had the reaction to this version of "The Edge of Night" theme.

  • @skingerskanger But only Monticello, with much murder and mayhem going on around you. LOL!

  • Rush Limbaugh at one time in the late 90s used this music for "The Kennedy Family Update" and "The Clintons Update". Hysterical.

  • @a59616 I hear that. And with Harry Kramer's announcing, it gave the show a more sinister approach, and with the opening and closing titles, that would only add the allure to that show. Hal Simms carried that tradition as well, with his eternal "Theeeee Edge of Night!" In fact, the skyline shot that was shown was that of Cincinnati, Ohio, which is where Procter and Gamble is based, and stood in for Monticello (the fictional community which Edge was set).

  • @AlbieGray I'll say. When I was a kid, I visited Mexico where I stayed on a farm and not too far from it there were these buildings inside of town and believe it ir not, they quickly reminded me of the ones in the opening on the show and I was a bit scared. So you're right, it was frightening!

  • @AlbieGray I'll say it WAS!

  • What wonderful memories hearing that music. Being 11 in 1972 and living in the Bronx, going home to watch EON and Secret Storm with my mom. Not a care in the world!!
