Toddler Murder - Stockport

Police are investigating after a three-year-old girl died in Stockport.

Shortly before 9.40am, Saturday 3 October 2009, police were called by the ambulance service to Redwood Close, Cheadle Heath, to a report that a child had died.

A three-year-old girl was found collapsed in the house and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman was also found at the scene with injuries to her wrist and was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment for superficial cuts.

A 43-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being interviewed by officers. Detectives are currently at the scene and inquiries are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
