K. Dutta was a good music director but here for some reason, he used
C. Ramchandra's style.

Hello Ajay.
Basant Prakash was th younger brother of the famous Khemchand Prakash. They were from Rajhastan and both were experts on Sarangi. As matter of fact, in the begin Basant played Sarangi for Khemchand. Khemchand died after Mahal. Basant gave some music but was not liked by S. Mukherjee, one of the owners of Filmistan at that time.He also composed one song for Anarkali sung by Geeta Dutt but his name was not mentioned either in film or on Anarkali disc. The disc you and I both have.

I have heard this song after some 30 years. It has emotional thirst anguish stoic resignation and a mystical aura that beggars description.I do not know who composed it but the lyricist is not far behind the singer in making it a thing of beauty which is joy for ever.

Never heard this gems. Hardly 23 years old but Lata ji sings like singing for many ,many years.Very beautiful, melodious, soothing voice, feel like listening to her again and again.Thumbs Up.
Thanks Ajay Bhaiya. Love. Didi.

The first song sounds like another one of those cases where the melody was perhaps ordinary at the start , but Lataji's sweet alankaars and then some dynamic improvements by the MD made it shine. I can't imagine the melody sounding very impressive when initially demonstrated on the harmonium. Thanks, Ajay.
