Ātashkada Naubahār is one of the oldest Zoroastrian Ātashkada in the world. It is located in Balkh, north Afghanistan. Balkh (Avestan: Bakhdi, Old Persian: Bakhtrish, Latin: Bactria) is believed to be the birthplace of Zoroastrianism, one of the world's earliest monotheistic religions.

  • ARYANA AFGHANISTAN

  • The city's long history and former importance are recognized by the native population, who speak of it as the Mother of Cities and the place of Zoroaster's death.[5] Its foundation is mythically ascribed to Keyumars, the first king of the world in Persian legend ; and it is at least certain that, at a very early date, it was the rival of Ecbatana, Nineveh and Babylon. dont know why the rival of ecbatana but it was written so i have to search more ;)

  • scholars believe that a number of mythological rulers of ancient Iran e.g. some kings of Kavi Dynasty (or Kayanian in Persian) were historically local rulers of an area centered around Balkh.

  • There is a long-standing tradition that an ancient shrine of Anahita was to be found here, a temple so rich it invited plunder.

For a long time the city and country was the central seat of the Zoroastrian religion, the founder of which, Zoroaster, died within the walls, according to the Persian poet Firdowsi.!!!

  • did anyone doubt that zoroaster was from balkh? Balkh (Persian / Pashto: بلخ - Balḫ, Old Persian; Ancient Greek: Baktra or Zariaspa), was an ancient city and centre of Zoroastrianism in what is now northern Afghanistan. The name Zariaspa, which is either an alternate name for Balkh or a term for part of the city, may derive from the important Zoroastrian fire temple Azar-i-Asp. Balkh was regarded as the first place where Zoroaster first preached his religion, as well as the place where he died.

  • zartusht belongs to us

cus i was born the city as he born :)

  • @39651able Vedas are the oldest and means gaining wisdom hence thats what the ancient aryans had in common after evil minds of people split the persians and aryans of India. Rig veda is old but not older than avesta. The pancha buthas are common for all aryans around the world. Even Europe!

  • I am familar with Sanskrit and the Rig Veda. I have never studyed the Avesta; however this is becoming a priority. I do certainly recognize Mithra as a Vedic Deity. I read that Aryan religion was pretty much the same untill about 1,000 B.C. at which time "intellectual" difficulties arose and the Vedic beliefs moved on into India, Zoroastrianism dominates Persia. Zoroastrianism had a profound effect on the Hebrews- Cyrus the great. I believe the Rig Veda is older than the Avesta.

  • @IranSepahbod

Letting that holy fire burn again?

I bet either America or the Taliban

will unfortunately destroy it sooner or later.

  • restore it and let the holy fire burn again.
