@Freyja1133 Don't know, Freyja. I know that THE MIDNIGHTERS did the original, and that Chubby Checker covered it. The Dovells made a "answer song" of sorts, "The New Continental" I'll have to check on any versions by The Belmonts.

THE MIDNIGHTERS made this song FIRST. Chubby Checker covered it later.

Hank Ballard wrote "The Twist" which was covered by Chubby Checker. Ballard made it a "B" side song on his release "Teardrops On Your Letter". This is Ballard's version of The Continental.
