Soapy Smith Night at the Magic Castle 2011

Soapy Smith Night at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. For eight years, the Magic Castle ( www.MagicCastle.com ) and the Soapy Smith Preservation Trust, along with the School for Scoundrels, has put on a celebration of the last famous gunfight of the 19th Century, the gunfight on the wharf of Skagway, Alaska between the lone Soapy Smith against a gang of vigilantes. Soapy Smith was killed in the gunfight on July 8, 1898. He was the premier con man and gangster of the Victorian period. The event raises money for the Vernon Fund, which supports magicians in financial and medical need.

Had a great time at the Soapy Smith Night. Would have been nice to have had those wonderful gambling tables running longer... and the night to go on a bit longer as well (is Saturday an option?). The costumes and vibe were fantastic!
