The Conversion of the Ethiopian Driver

Lagasse, our Ethiopian driver, decided he needed to "die with Christ" and be united with His death by being buried with Him through baptism into death so that he would be raised with a new life (Romans 6). He made a public confession of his belief that Jesus was the Son of God in front of about 80 Ethiopian preachers and then went to the river in Hosanna to be immersed. In the video he is not having second thoughts as he entered the water, he is just having trouble getting his footing as the water was very swift (see The Baptism of Lagasse Part 2). Also, you will hear complete strangers cheering as they onlooked from the highway bridge overlooking the scene.
