Due to be retired from RAF service in 2010, the Air Defence Variant of the Tornado has been responsible for the Air Defence of the United Kingdom since 1986.
It is currently being replaced by the Eurofighter Typhoon.
Although never intended as a dogfighter and despite early teething troubles with its Foxhunter radar, the Tornado F3 nonetheless developed into one of the most capable long-range interceptors in the world.

Brazil. After years of service an aircraft technology is still usable and multi task. Besides being one of the most elegant. I wonder if his government would not sell them even countries with little money for their air forces? Or will be placed in reserve? Should provide for my country. It was to buy the Rafale, but gave up in times of crisis. It would be great to have an IDS or ADV here.

@bryUK i think the bias was obvious. a, dude comes from a bing bing dong dong country, so obvious not too bright. b. he subscribes to russia today, so he hates all things that result in freedom and democracy, and believes in being a b*tch slave to dictatorial regimes... about sums it up right. btw, you are def right about no adv's being shot down... d*mn good aircraft. on par with all modern advanced aircraft, which is 90 steps ahead of the former eastern block aircraft. ltr

this was the aircraft that gave me my love of aircraft. ever since sitting in one at a luftwaffe base in the uk and getting tour of base by family friend when i was 5 i have never looked back. this was my first love.

LOL Very nice :) Where I am from we call that "Dont care much for the british antique roadshow" It is however from time to time nice to listen to antique dealers talk about inferior equipment that few other nations wants. @pro2man Alas, I'm afraid they were the Tornado IDS version, not the ADV version I mentioned or featured in this video. One is a bomber, one is a fighter.
