this drive shows preston in 1988, the docks when only morrisons was there,the manxman nightclub,marsh lane before the flyover, wellfeild rd and maudland bank, Preston town centre,views from the top off the bus station,red rose radio,friargate,behind the old black bull pub,tulketh brow, lane ends, woodplumpton road, all done in an old mini, with a slipping clutch

The wife and I met on the Manxman in 1986. Still together and occasionally have a walk around the dock sharing memories of those happy days.

class that mate , used to live down there on delacy st , back off lime kiln pub..lol..used to dj on the manxman with oli martin & john ryan ( played charlie the trucker in corrie street , looks like sean connery )....

I work in the trident centre (06.25) which is blue now. Didn't realise it's been there it looks like a new building.

What a fab piece of archive footage! I had my stag do was on the Manxman! Ialso worked at a publishers on the docks which you drove past on the roundabout going towards Morrisons.

This reminds me of driving around the dump in my mates old Cortina... But this is even more dismal. Late '70s-'80s was not a happy time in Preston. LOTS of unemployment.

I hear things haven't changed much.

lol at 3.08 "sunday, the 28th of............speedboat" haha, cant believe how much docks has changed, i lived across the road from docks in 1988, but dont really remember it like this as i was only 7
