CSXT W055 at Gay, Georgia - 4/17/05

At 12:14pm on Sunday, April 17, 2005, southbound loaded concrete tie train W055 rumbles through the milepost ANB806.4 grade crossing in Gay, Georgia, on CSXT's Manchester Subdivision behind CSXT C36-7 #7123 and CSXT C36-7 #7133. This was the last solid Conrail locomotive consist that I captured on CSXT rails.

Conrail looked so good. I wish more of it was around. Road power-wise, it's about gone.

@trainkid16 There's only 34 Conrail-blue locomotives left on the NS roster as of this past Friday. None on CSXT.

@southern7002x Dang. NS hit 100 left this year. That's when I could go out and be guaranteed a CR blue Dash 8. Not anymore! I believe I caught the last blue locomotive on the CSX system in Auburn, GA either this spring or last summer.

I miss seeing those blue motors. A pair of them used to work the Vulcan quarry in Kennesaw and of course I never got and pictures.

@southern7002x I know. I hope they make it past February when I can take myself railfanning. We had CR power in Gainesville last month.

@UPDetector Thanks Ryan! Glad you enjoyed the video! This was the last time I ever caught a solid blue Conrail lashup on CSXT and also the last time I was fortunate enough to video any C36-7s on CSXT rails. They were all retired not long after this footage was made.
