@thedeedpoll, i don't think its an organ patch on the studio recording; i believe they used a reed pipe organ--similar to a Monet.

My favourite song by my favourite band. Incredible.

I feel like the reason this version is faster and the vocals seem hurried is because this song was painful for thom to sing. I mean, just listen to the lyrics and consider what thom was going through when he made this album.

@NchTrovert that's why i've pretty much come to the conclusion that he is, in fact, a being of extraterrestrial origin and that he's likely from the same planet as david byrne.
