Ch. 39

Last chapter everyone was in a hotel and they played Charades and watched Transformers. They were going to go to bed when the doorbell rang. Kevin went to answer it and the person at the door hit him in the head with a bat.

REMEMBER: Who hates who?

Kaitlyn, Emily, Breann, and Katie are all sharing a room. They are trying to get ready for bed.

Kaitlyn—I wonder who was at the door.

Breann—yeah, its kind of late.

Emily—Whatever. Maybe it was Mr. or Mrs. Jonas

Katie—Yeah, lets just go to bed.

Kaitlyn—Okay. *her phone rings. She answers it* Hello?

Caller--*in a strained voice* Help.

Kaitlyn—Kevin?? Oh my gosh are you okay?

Kevin—Shhbe quiet. He might hear you.

Kevin—Kevin what are you talking about? Who might hear me?

Kevin—He was at the door, he hit me with a bat. I need you to help me! Im in the hotels basement. Oh no! Hes coming. I have to go. *the line goes dead*

Kaitlyn—KEVIN?

Emily—*worried* What about Kevin?

Kaitlyn—*tears running down her cheeks* He said the person at the door hit him with a bat. Hes in the hotel basement.

Breann—Who?

Kaitlyn—He didnt get the chance to say. The guy was coming towards Kevin.

Katie—we need to tell Joe and Nick!

Kaitlyn—Yeah.
They get up and walk over to the boys room that they are sharing. Kaitlyn knocks on the door, uncontrolled tears streaming down her face. Nick opens the door. Joe is texting someone on his cell phone. Jake is already sleeping.

Nick--*seeing Kaitlyns face* Kaitlyn? Whats the matter?

Kaitlyn--*trying to control the tears a little it better* UmmKevin

Nick—What about Kevin? *He wipes her tears with his shirt sleeve*

Kaitlyn just looks at Emily who is crying now and then looks back at Nick. Nick starts getting worried now. He puts his hands on Kaitlyns shoulders and starts to shake her.

Nick—Kaitlyn! Tell me what is wrong with Kevin!

Joe--*stops texting and runs up to Nick.* Dude. Stop it! Youre going to hurt her!

Nick--*dropping his hands and looking down.* Im sorry.

Kaitlyn—its okay. *sniffing* Umsomeone hit Kevin with a bat and now hes in the hotel basement.

Joe—WHAT?

Kaitlyn—Yeah, Kevin called me. He was about to tell me who it was, when he said Hes coming! and hung up.

Joe—we have to go! WE HAVE TO GO GET MY BROTHER!

Nick—We will! We just have to first figure out who it is.

Kaitlyn—Well, who could it be? *Her phone rings. She answers it.* Hello?

Caller—Hey Kaitlyn Jane.

Kaitlyn--*confused* Sam?

Sam—Yeah. I just wanted to tell you something.

Kaitlyn—What?

Sam—Well first, Im moving to North Carolina.

Kaitlyn—Really?

Sam—Yeah. And I really wanted to see you once more before I move.
Kaitlyn—Well Im kind of busy right now.

Sam—Oh I know. But Ill see you soon

Kaitlyn—But how do you know?

Sam—See you soon. *the line goes dead.*

Kaitlyn—Well that was weird.

Nick—What?

Kaitlyn—Sam is moving to North Carolina and..*realizes something* Oh my gosh!

Joe--*impatient* What?

Kaitlyn—I know who it is!

Joe—WHO?

Kaitlyn—Just follow me!

She runs out the door. Everyone is confused but follows quickly after her.
