To each, his own! If you like working on the computer and want to spend 1200 bucks for the Renaissance MPC then please get it and groove, but if you are being wise with your dollar and just need to have a hit maker. Get you a used MV 8000 and you will not be disappointed at all! Good music was made before the MPC and MV and will continue! I just don't think this is a game changer / hip hop revolutionary piece of equipment like the MPC 3000 which the MV has far outdone.

@djbigmonay I feel you brother no disrespect. But with the new iMacs, Mac Books, and Mac Pros out there, PC based production is way better than it used to be. The all hardware approach is loosing its advantage. Why not have an MPC that takes advantage of this. This beast is actually the remedy for many PC based producers who would like an MPC that's more closely integrated with their software workflow. If you want and MPC and need an audio interface its perfect. I'll certainly upgrade.

@djbigmonay That and Akai professional is just a Numark puppy now..
New Hip-Hop producers, save your money or buy a hardware MPC. Better yet, just get an MV8000. MV's are only about 400 bucks on Craig's List and they do everything you will need to do. Most of us producers who have been in the game for a while already have an audio interface and production software, so we can just stick with out guns! Akai were innovators in the game, but now they just follow. Don't allow Akai to take advantage of your wallet! Be smart and think before you invest.
