  • Great video! Over the years I've become a firm believer in Vitamin D3 supplementation and have spread the word to family & friends. It has helped me greatly with various health issues. However, I've always wondered ...I understand that our ancestors would obtain massive amounts Vitamin D through their skin in the summer and that makes sense. But how was it that they could ever attain anywhere near 8000 IU daily during the colder darker months?

  • @norwegcat They never did and suffered the consequences. Our ancient ancestors did not live in northern climates. They lived in sub tropical or tropical environments that could provide enough UVB rays year round

  • hmmm I take 6000 IU a day. My fitness level is pretty good as I am extremely active. so according to her study, 8000 IU would be better for a person like me eh?

  • @AGuyWhoPunkUMama 8000 is the dose most adults need. However you NEED to get your blood tested to know for sure. That is the only way

  • Good question norwegcat, I've been wondering that too. Any thoughts Dr. Mercola? Were they deficient in the winter months?
