This might answer what no science teacher could ever explain to me...why are the ozone holes only in the poles? Where they're almost unpopulated and have the purest of air? How did CFC's travel only to the poles? HAARP makes a lot more sence especially considering the way the ionosphere works...it deflects all that energy straight to the poles.

@kimbo1601 Doesn't it depend on the concentrations? More O2 + O = more O2 + O -> O3 reactions and More O3 = more Cl + O3 -> ClO + O2 reactions?

So as long as the chlorine atoms exist in the atmosphere the ozone will be diminished but it balances out depending on the concentrations of the substances? The choline doesn't permanently destroy ozone but diminishes it while it is there.

I'm sorry, what is "quickly repairing" the thinning of the ozone layer? The rate of chlorine reaction with ozone is 1500 times faster than the rate of the oxygen atom reaction with ozone

The severe depletion of the Antarctic zone layer known as the "ozone hole" occurs because of the special weather conditions that exist there and nowhere else on the globe (dynamic weathering). The very low temperatures of the Antarctic stratosphere create ice clouds called polar stratospheric clouds. Special reactions that occur on PSCs and the relative isolation of polar stratospheric air allow chlorine and bromine reactions to produce the ozone hole in the springtime.

Makes sense that CFC's didn't cause it, does anyone really think that a couple of aerosol cans could possibly create a hole that large, and for so long? Ozone is made every second in huge quantities, even if CFC's could make a hole in Ozone, it would be quickly repaired before it got very large.
