  • WinterHaven...LOL If you commit suicide, you will blame Bush. Just when I thought I heard the best bullshit line you come along. Holy shit!

  • The number of unemployed here in the US is not accurate. This is political bullshit. The number of unemployed is much higher, much higher. These are only the people collecting unemployment. The undocumented workers, or the people who unemployment payments are finished, and are no longer on record as unemployed.

  • @FrankieD2000 This is very true, I have been to workshops at my local workforce development center, and they say the same thing, there are WAY MORE people out there who are either not collecting unemployment benefits anymore and are not working, or people who are not working and have given up looking for work.

  • We are in a DEPRESSION and not a recession. in 2009 there were more jobs and people that were laid off than there ever have been especially in Oregon. I got a degree in Accounting and it means nothing and have 18 years of solid job experience and have never been in jail and do not have a criminal record. NAAFTA has made it legal for companies to go anywhere for cheaper wages. Never have things been so bad as they are right now in the world of work.

  • Didn't some government agency get busted posting fake job ads in papers to make it look like companies (fake ones) are hiring/

  • The real unemployment rate in the U.S at least 22.7% nationwide. In my shitty state it is 30-33%+ depending on locale.

And I don't see any good jobs coming back. Sure, you may be able to find an $8-$10/hr in the service industry and good luck with that even.

  • and it's only gonna get worse. unless you go back to school and study something in demand. otherwise, you're screwed.

I don't want to spend the rest of my life working in shitty boring ass part time jobs with no health benefits. I want a full time job that's secure, that's 40K or more, and has health benefits. no choice but to go back to school. I've realized that with my BA, there is no hope in finding a real job.

  • Regardless most Job's will move to CHINA!!

  • There is no scarcity in products and services, there is merely a scarcity in jobs. To use labour participation as a model for wealth distribution is ABSURD in an age of information technology, mass production and global trading!

  • More More Bigger Bigger? Don't paint those of us who make 40k or less per year with such a broad brush. America is fast becoming a nation of "wage slaves". People are caught up in a cycle of living to work, instead of working to live.
