@f33bs: Yep, you were pretty in tune with what was going on, most kids are brainwashed into PC submission. I am sorry to say, Ameritards will never wake up, this country is headed toward 3rd world status. Stock up on guns, ammo, canned food. Practice low crawling at night time. When the crap hits the fan, do not look for Big Brother to be there to help.
Ha ha. That was three years ago. Kind of weird re-reading what I wrote when I was still a naive high school student. Now I'm a junior in college. <_<
I think I was right though. Especially now that I've seen what the generation after me is like; much worse and even more coddled and protected by their parents.
I think America is due for a serious wake-up call when it comes to education.
@f33bs: You are ahead of your time, good job. You realize how stupid this country has become. I just started to realize this fact a couple of years ago, and I am 43. Good job, and if I may recommend a great true life documentary about the USA titled "Idiocracy".
This education reform is all a lot of hocus pocus.
I compare it to all of the dumb, big brother tactics being used to try and get fat, bloated, piggish, Ameritards to pry the junk food out of their mouths. Fatasses know what they need to do to lose weight, they just are too undisciplined and pathetic to do it, they do not need big brother to hold their hands.
It is the same way with the Idiotic kids we call students and their parents . They do not care about learing, plain and simple.
The state governments won't be any better at running schools. School choice is the answer. Tax breaks for parents sending their children to private schools will help teach children what they need to know to prevent our country from going down the socialist drain.
What we need is real school choice. K-12 education can still be paid for by the state while allowing parents to choose which school their child will go to, whether they choose a public or private school. Simply allowing parents to choose schools for themselves will create competition and accountability. Bad schools will lose students and go out of business while good schools will gain students and open more schools. The free market works; there is no reason it won't work in education.
Ø What about how housing patterns having to do with disparity in education between the people that live in affluent areas v. impoverished areas. This is unconstitutional as well as it is unconstitutional to give vouchers to be used at parochial schools. There are existing laws that the federal government is required to follow with regard to public education. Republican's often cite that writing new laws is unnecessary when there are existing laws in the books addressing other matters.
And I don't see how giving states free reign over the money is going to help anything. Are the people going to have any say over what happens, what about the kids?
Kids only idea of freedom comes from picking Pepsi or Coke, Verizon or Cingular, Video iPod or iPod Nano. Thats not freedom. Thats freedom to buy, to consume. Thats not what this country was founded upon. Our kids are just machines that consume, and discard. Modern teens are merely the brainchild of corporations. Its automatic.
The huge gap between the kids, socially. Thats the problem, its not about where money is going, who's in charge, its about how are kids are brought up. And that rests SOLELY on the parents.
