This video shows how we use a vision- and sound-based interface to interact with objects on wall-sized displays. The system enables interaction with far-away objects by letting the user point at them, and then snap or double-snap his fingers to bring them closer. Once up-close, objects can be manipulated using our touch-free interface. We also demonstrate the touch-free interface in use to play Quake 3 Arena on our display wall.
I thought the latency for Quake 3 was above the accepted threshold?

Yes, the latency is slightly higher than the preferred latency, but not as high as to make the game unplayable (as you can see in the video). Also, since all players use the same interface to play the game, they are equally affected by the latency.
