Sill was a great place. I was there from August to October. Brutally hot to very cold. Loved every minute.

When I was at Fort Benning (11B) 14 years ago we would never have been able to get away with any of this. And what is with the walkman? All we had for entertainment material was the Infantry Handbook and reading/writing letters. Though we never had any real free time anyways...lol.

@Cassidan My son told me that during BCT they were allowed their cell phones for 1 or 2 hours on sunday afternoons, but during AIT they had a lot more free time on Sundays and were allowed laptops, vid cams, and once his battery did so well, they were allowed to watch some NFL games. But Monday through Saturday, it's as old school as you remember..haha
