  • @TheSpongeTom: And they were. Tardigrades are still around. But the kind of cryptobiosis that allows them to be so damn tough would never work--and, in fact, would probably be very dangerous--for anything of a larger size. It works because they're tiny...plain and simple.

  • How's that? In many ways, these are more "evolved" than even humans. They're literally "made to survive". You'd think those kinds of traits would be preserved...
