Who we Are
Founded in 2005 by two full time educators, Education Without Borders International, a non-profit organization, aims to provide youth across all socio-economic, racial, national, and cultural backgrounds with a dynamic educational experience in the Americas. We have witnessed the power of educational travel experiences to change lives and broaden horizons, both in our own lives and those of our students. Since 2006 we have partnered with Visions and Dreams for Creative Learning to facilitate an unforgettable cross-cultural experience for youth.
Our program joins Costa Rican and North American teenagers for two-three weeks at the 200 acre La Vida del Corazon ranch in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. We live as a family participating in community service projects, language immersion classes, team building exercises, ecological excursions, dialogoues around contemporary global issues, and daily family style meals from local farms. Whether we are riding horseback across the mountains, planting a community garden, or camping at the beach we immerse ourselves in the human warmth of the friendships we develop and the beauty of the natural world surrounding us. It is a tremendous joy for us as educators to introduce these young people to new cultures, foods, landscapes, experiences and values in a safe and relaxed environment. This is an excellent video, depicting the gains made by everyday ordinary teens, venturing to a different culture, embracing their ways and laguage, while having a ball. I'm jealous!!
