I think this is the first drum cover for No Quarter on YouTube. One of my favorite Zep tunes to play on drums. Enjoy.

  • How do you play those notes that make the main groove sound a bit like a marching snare?

I think they're called ghost notes but i'm not sure.

  • Yeah, they're ghost notes. Its simply playing much quieter on the snare than a normal beat.

  • Very good playing, sounds like you've been at it a while.

I have to agree with barley about the tom - is there a reason you have one that is lower? If you like it and it works for you that's great - but if/as you graduate to more advanced wets with the toms higher it may be harder to get used to though.

Keep uo the great work and hope to see more vids!

  • Hey, thanks for subscribing! Which tom are you talking about? The lower mounted tom? Yeah, I'm trying to achieve a double floor tom feel, until I get a double floor tom set.

  • Very good man. You would be good to jam this song with.

  • You should experiment more with fills and improv, remember Bonzo never played a song the same live! Other then that you're a natural!

  • great job on the ghost notes you should give funk a try

  • @sevdrummin build up your double stroke speed and then play a double stroke triplet with your snare hand quietly. learn triplet timing and transitioning from eight notes to eighth note triplets

  • @akmrecon so how exactly do you do it? let the stick fall, or tighten the wrists. any techniques?

  • @sevdrummin the ghosts notes that bonham usually played were just triplets (like everything else he did). once you learn the triplets its not very hard. study funk if you want to get really good at ghost notes or try the book "future sounds". it also has a lot of ghost note stuff i think

  • HEY how long youve been playing bro?

ive been playing for 6 months and have mastered immigrant song, achillies last stand, and several other led zeppelin songs...but the thing that gets me on this song is your ghost notes on the snair...they are fuckin hard! but hey good job need to play more solid but dam dude good job! two thumbs up!

  • Fantastic cover !

  • @nirvanaman1129 yeah man i totally agree with you...

  • work on timing
