if you could see me now

i'm sorry for not posting in a while, only i was unwell over the last months,
but i'm on the mend now,so it's time to nourish and freshen up my beloved youtube page.

i'll be posting some poetry and arty things over the next weeks,but i'd like to start with the thing i enjoy the most ....singing.
i remember in 1963 when i was four years old getting my first beatles single[she loves you]....and i've been singing my guts out ever since.
because of music,i've never really needed for much ...the music was always it's own reward.
its quite comical......music......true love..great sex ... mild drugs....and groovy clothes are the only things i've ever hankered for.

recently i've rediscovered guitars........
the funny thing about being unwell is it somehow heightens the senses...
things that i came to overlook or take for granted, now hold great beauty for me.
i was tripping out in a fabulous musical instrument shop last week, looking at all the lovely shiny drums, saxophones and grand pianos....
but the thing that really got me was the guitars....gleaming in the well dressed shop window... their curviness.. their rock n roll history...the mixture of materials...
gorgeous wood.. metal ... groovy plastics.....
but more than anything, it's their easy access.....for anyone can play the guitar ...
it's super simple...they bring playing music within reach.
they offer the promise of musical expression,without costing a fortune.
a bit like what the laptop and internet has done for the millions of poets in the 21st century.
but before all that gorgeous modern technology,the only door open for the likes of me was a guitar and my voice.

so i hope this connects with you in some way...
it's a classic old soul song that i heard on a millie jackson album, where over the course of the record she goes mad and ends up in an asylum.
but here it's my soul crying out to you and FOR you ....the hurt .... the joy.....sharing the common ground.
me feeling what we all feel....hurt and joy......the love.

Always loved the guitar work on this song. It strangely matches the sad and soft sound of hurricane Irene's winds, blowing against my wet window, as I listen to it. I try to watch how you strum with your thumb and learn a few more chords, can't leave the guitar since I picked it back in April, play every bloody day. Gave up on the thumb though, going back to my own way. Need a nice way to kill my time while stranded by this hurricane. :)

Listening to your music & watching your expressive face is like trolling in an emotional minefield,from laughing,smiling,enjoying the genuine Mary on the first video this morning to this one was like sitting astride a pendulum,being swung from one extreme to another you play beautifully with my emotions,you do it with the most beautiful melodies,&lyrics of anyone ever a pleasure tostop & listen(I mean listening) to your lyrics they command attention.I loved it I'm a soppy bastard really.

Like #108.Mary,I have been there, I lost someone that was very special,I remember wishing to be alone, my fault, we have to be careful what we ask for,it doesn't always work.I'd give anything to kiss that person one more time and step back from the brink,rethink a decision,undo on a computer is a wonderful facility, I've been priviledged I have love in my life (More than once) only once was the real thing! that's the one I miss.Where is that button? loved this, again you touched a nerve.
