It's not the wrong way to play if it works. I was taught that the right way to hold a guitar was resting it on your left leg, but everyone I know who plays guitar rests it on their right. It irritated me for ages, but it's not like it makes much of a difference.
I play clarinet, and although it's also taught that puffing your cheeks out is bad, there isn't really much difference in the tone colour. I don't know about saxophone, but this guy sounds pretty good to me

how do u do a diaphragm vibrato??
-
i agrre with dangermonkeybob. also, it looks like his cheeks are puffing out when he plays and that is the WRONG way to play a saxophone but eaither way, he sounds very very good

@msstupidbritishperson I prefer Vandoren over Rico, but yes each musician has a different opinion on what kind of reed they like to use. Actually my favorites are the ones that taste like cherry :/

@893165009 to each their own buddy! quit being a prick

I actually like it that he's puffs his cheeks, I've always wanted to do it, but it doesn't look comfortable and all my teachers have said it's not the correct way to do it. It may give him a different sound, and definitely a different look. Maybe he can concentrate his sound better?

Interesting that Jerry puffs his cheeks, and counters with the mpc slid almost to the end of the cork... I'd be very sharp there! As has been said, if it works for him...
-
@significantjoe i'd agree but if bergonzi's doing it then it can't be all that bad
-
I'm not an expert, but aren't your cheeks not supposed to puff out on the sax? I'm not even sure how you do that, it looks difficult..
-
haha yeah
Oh, man, that subtone at the very end is HEAVEN !
