Eating 7 inch Scorpion that put me in Thailand Hospital: Thailand Gross Grub

Poisoned by eating a fried scorpion. Eating a scorpion that sent me to the hospital. Who knew scorpions had poison in the mandible AND it's tail? Not me. I was allergic, breathing slowed, heart went crazy.

So I eat this thing. I finish. Drink some water and get my running shoes. I ride the motorbike over to the park. Time elapsed - about 15 minutes.

I start running. I go about a mile or so and I realize my mouth is watering constantly. I'm spitting like a baseball coach arguing with an umpire. Then i realize my breathing is getting worse. I have asthma a bit - it rarely affects me, but my breathing was shutting down pretty good. I was walking now. I notice - my legs are sweating like mad. Then I notice my heart is going crazy - palpitations. I'm wondering - am I going to die in this Thailand park?

I walk slow. I notice my thinking is all farked up. I can't put thoughts together much. I am trying to focus on walking back to the motorbike. I have about 1/2 mile to get back. At the motorbike I can't breathe well at all. About 50% of normal. I go back to apt to get girlfriend to drive me to the hospital because I'm afraid i'll pass out if I just go straight there. Better she sees me one last time alive too I thought.

At the hospital breathing is at about 40, then 30% of normal. (I'm recalling this years later now - maybe I've written soemthing that better and more accurately describes everything in my Thaipulse.com/blog - not sure.

Anyway - they get me on a vapor mist for my lungs - with salt water and something. They give me antihistamines... my face is all swollen up at this point and I still can't think well. Breathing is getting better though and eventually gets up to 90% and I'm able to sleep at night. I stayed over night at the hospital 1 night. Felt ok in the morning and left.

erm...you ate venom it shouldn't affect you thats NOT poisen but you were allergic so yeah..

i just think you sould sample all foods ....ok so he got sick on a scorpian that really someone should have told him how to eat it lol....but ive ate many things in my time in thailand ....must admit i like crickets and grasshoppers when there fried.....other things not so nice lol
