Tare Marak (Peacock Dance)

Peacock Dance comes from Pasundan land, West Java, Indonesia. Peacock is said to be a magical animal with her beautiful feather and unique movements. The dancers are imitating the movement of a peacock proudly showing its colorful feathers. This dance can be played by one or a few people wearing scarves tied on the waist and are usually performed by women. If the scarf is stretched to go around it imitates the peacock wings. The dancers are wearing a crown on the head which its shaped like a peacock's head. The graceful hand movements and gamelan accompaniment, is one characteristic of this dance depicting the life of the peacock that has elegance, beauty and agility.

Viewed from a TP-Life these dance characteristics has the same characteristics with TP Values:

1.Integrity: Elegance and beauty describe the beautiful harmony in accordance to TP Values. Unique and graceful of movement of each dancers shows this harmony. Each movement describes sincerity of movement of each performer.
2.Respect: shown through the peacocks gestures in communicating
3.Professionalism: shown in the quality of the costumes from the crown to the wings to the scarves and skill to imitate peacocks are making interactions each others.
4.Innovation: reflected in the agility of the graceful movements. Illustrates and inspires the dynamics movements according to TPs dynamic culture. It can be seen from hand and head movements that show skills but still seen without difficulty from each dancer.
5.Commitment: imitating peacocks to its closest sense shows the commitment to present how graceful peacocks are in reality.
