Recently featured in Fast Fours Magazine over four issues as a buildup. We've just completed the Dyno tune our customer Steve's RX8 fitted with a built RX7 Series 8 13B-REW twin turbo engine. Tossing out the asthmatic factory IHI twin turbos in favour of a Garrett T04Z ensures this street driven monster tears up tarmac like a Tsunami in full force.

The latest Haltech ECU, the Platinum Sport 2000 (PS2000) with Haltech Wideband O2 provides engine management. Intake and fuelling is handled by the EFI Hardware Throttle Body, Tweakit IDA Plenum, 750cc primary injectors, 1600cc secondaries, Turbosmart FPR 800 and Bosch 044 MotorSport Fuel Pump.

  • Great work, I love seeing a beautiful car like the 8 get the motor it should have received from the beginning.

  • @Chrisnuzzo76, Thank you, and too right! Such a pity Mazda have had a Turbo Rotary drought for so long now...

    Ciao,

    Jeremy

  • im in love with ur video/slash rx8! =) badass thumbs up!!!

  • @BachateroDeCorazon69, thanks mate!

    rgds,

  • Do Recomend Thos Car For A Daily Driver?

  • @DensWsR16, In addition if the workshop offers you any of the budget or new brands of ECUs, be very suspicious of their engine management knowledge, skills or interest. The cheapies are (mostly) quick to tune, but impossible to get back factory refinement, fuel economy, and are commonly contributing factors in engine destruction. The only ECUs we would touch are Haltech, Motec, Autronic or EFI Technologies. Although there are plenty of ECUs in the $5k+ mark that are awesome too :). -Jeremy

  • This is a JET!

  • 25k lnvestment just on the turbo

  • This is my dream right here, exactly its beautiful

  • 0-60 time?

  • NICE set up! how much have you invested?

  • @TweakitPerformance what do u think of GREDDY engine management unit? is there a 3 rotor or 4 rotor kit that has a matching sequential turbo kit for a JDM RX8? does the turbo kit have coolent system? after getting high flow fuel pump & injectors & different rail & regulator, how much boost is safe for the engine in 2, 3, or 4 rotor configuration? sorry if this is to much, i have alot planned for my dream car.

  • Wow, nice! What are the average costs to drop in a 13B-REW including labor? Might consider doing it to my R3 someday. Needs more power but I'm never giving it up.

  • COOL :D
