You can plug in a keyboard or mouse straight in but the Razer Edge (without the dock) has only 1 USB port, so you can only plug in either the keyboard or mouse....

unfortunately, the controller comes standard with it (last time I checked), so you will have that anyway :/ though I do think it would be perfect for travelling, and I think it also extends the battery life (not sure if true, just something I heard from several others)

Hmmmm, true and valid. Honestly, I don't know how much traveling i'll be doing with this. I just love the idea of having this as a home gaming device to be honest. I'd save about three-quarters of my desk space and it's just so versatile around the house (TV, Monitor, using it while sitting up in bed etc...). I'm definitely NOT going for the slide in controller though, it looks clumsy, heavy and awkward. But the keyboard is tempting so it can double as a laptop.

The shield is fucking shit. You have to have a powerful enough gaming PC just to play games on it. The shield doesn't run games, it merely receives from the Gaming PC. Without a powerful gaming PC, theres not point in buying it.

yes you can do that. but imo the keyboard dock would be better, because it then becomes a laptop, I wouldn't want to lug around a keyboard in my bag, do you get what I mean? O.o
