Doctor Zhivago is an unforgettable movie. Beautiful story, awesome scenes. Must see ... and let me know if you think that I am wronng ... or right (:-)

Ah, what a classic love movie. The brutal war could not diminish the budding romance between the good doctor and his nurse on the battlefield---and then, oh my lord. The most beautiful landscapes in winter and spring. I have never seen that many daffodils swaying in the breeze. And then Lara's theme. Pure genius. This has to be one of the best movies of all times. Who would not love Lara with red blood flowing through men's veins--and women? Dr. Zhivago's liquid eyes. Have mercy! WOW!

David Lean was an under rated genius. He was a perfectionist who drove his actors and crew crazy. It's a remarkable film. I found the book disappointing by comparison.

I was 17 or so, too, and Julie Christie has stayed in my mind since then, together with the most wonderful film music ever. For its impact on people, it was even reviewed and analyzed

in the quite highbrow German weekly "DIE ZEIT" years later ...
