How wonderful to see this. Dave's style is unmistakable - pared back and using a sophisticated crossing of the rhythm (eg 6.19). He manages to use deceptively simple little motifs in his playing that hit the harmony right on the nail. I'm surprised by certain comments below. Some people seem to treat jazz as one big competition!

Actually he's very good, but watch out advertizing your vids everywhere, it's kind of irritating and one some it will have the opposite effect of what you want to reach.

@BezZo0 Dude, there's a big difference between jazz people and classical people. Us jazz guys know how to improvise. ;)

Jazz and classical musicians are the snobbest (is it a word?) in the world. Seems like that if a tune is easy listenable there must be something wrong with it for a lot of them. Brubeck is amazing, a pleasure to listen to in my opinion, and I don't know jazz very well, so he MUST be really good.

@jovesheerwater why so serious?

Actually, the best

Haha, the audio quality makes the sax players sound like they're flutter-tonguing the entire time!
Actually, that gives me some ideas...

The audio quality is bad, but they play so well, that this doesn't matter at all :-)

@Jesster2jazz Hey! Watch out what you say about Dave's outfit or he might club you with that collar!!

This is wonderful. That outfit Brubeck's got on! I think I've actually seen pics (perhaps from this concert) as covers of bootleg CDs from Europe. Is there any more info about where and when?
