強力なコンボですけどほぼ使い切り（素早さも下がる）なので、もっと慎重に使う場面を選ばないとー

maybe you could teach your gyarados the elemental fangs instead of giving it special attacks

since gyarados's ATK is way higher than its Sp ATK

I think you just stated the reason why Tantan made her Gyarados the way she did. Everyone who uses that pokemon always has them as a physical sweeper that when they see a Gyarados, they know what is coming more or less. Tantan breaks that mold to throw her opponents off I think.

But, also like you said, is really does come down to your play style and what fits it.

Thats true, I guess since most people would expect a physical gyarados.

But professionally speaking you might want to use Gyarados's 125 base ATK instead of its 60 base Sp ATK.

Although it really depends on personal preference

Gyarados can only get Ice Fang. Besides, some people prefer to be creative with their pokemon instead of using the greatest set.

It proves that tantan255 has creativity for using a special designed Gyarados. You don´t always have to use the stat that´s the highest of a pokemon.
