A short demo of the lightning Filter in Corel VideoStudio Pro. You can create this light sabre effect rather easily, with full control over color, glow, width etc. The edge, as I see it, is that you can work in key frames where you don't have to align the sabre effect on a frame to frame basis (most in-between frames are calculated by this excellent program)...

The demo is not perfect I know (purposely so you can get better idea how it works), but it could easily be with a little more effort..

  • where did you learn that, I mean I have the Corel videostudio pro but I can't figure how you did that.. unless i cut each frame and do the effect like that but that will take hours.. So talk to me, where did you lear this? is there a video or sometihg?

  • Choose "customize effect". The key framing is mentioned in the manual. Online search through the various tutorials..

  • hi i just got my video studio do you have a tuturial in how to do that type of efects like a Lightsabre thank you.

  • No, and we're caught up in moving but have no fear, If you know how to use the Key frame feature you're almost there since all that is left to do is to tweak the lightning effect so that it appears to be a straight line between those two points that makes up for the origin and destination point. then simply use those keyframes to follow the thin stick, or in my case the Katana (sword)
