I had the honor of getting to say a few words as about 500 concerned citizens gathered after marching from Daley plaza to the Tribune Building.

I just hope we can keep that passion going and put it into action in the coming months and years to ensure a government that respects its citizens and doesn't waste the hard-earned money of its taxpayers.

  • Where was the tea party protests before obama's presidency when taxes were higher and the state of the economy was even MORE grim.

Oh wait, thats right, they were ROOTING for the stuff that got us into this mess in the first place.

YOU idiots got us into this mess, and now you're laying the blame on a president who has not even spent 2 years in office to fix a fucking the diplomatic and economic damage the republican party caused

I see these tea parties as nothing but butthurt ignorant repubs

  • STFU!

  • You admit your not an economist, but are completely against Keynesianism without providing any other reason than typical Republican sound bites like big government spending and higher taxes. Didn't you read any Plato in your time at the U of C?

  • Yes wouldn't have been easier to just give all that money to the people to put into the economy. I didn't blame the government when I became unemployed and I don't blame them for not being able to find a job. The government can't solve economic problems, but they can make it worse.

  • Robert Gibbs said the White House was "amused" by the tea parties, but that "nobody out there is making $250,000 a year" as if that were somehow relevant.

President Obama said that he was "completely unaware" of the tea party protests. How can it be that the president could be "unaware" of a grass-roots protest movement of this size and scope? Doesn't he have a TV?

  • ThoughtsfromaTexan? I've been to Texas -- some nice people and a heck of a lot of crazies. We've all seen and experienced the "leadership" our last president provided. You might considering changing your nick if you wish anyone to seiously listen to you.

  • You might want to get an update. Even abc reports better then your old crap.
