INCOMING!!!!! 107mm rockets. Liberty, Iraq

Earlier in the evening we had indirect fire come in. Some of it hit a nearby civilian soccer game where alot of kids were hit. We were still in the trauma room on hight alert.

Haha. Usually by the time you get to the bunker the attack is over anyways... Maaaybe 1 or 2 more rockets come in. Of course our blimp never sounded the alarm correctly. You'd hear the wine overhead and everybody would freeze an hear the booms before the siren went off... But you were never really in a rush until one hit close enough it made our tent look like it was taking a deep breath. Other than that though... No sense in running you'll only hurt yourself in the dark.

@SWZ32TT Yeah. Most of the time the thing would hit before the alarm went off. We would be playing Halo and hear it over head and we would just look at each other and wait for the impact and continue playing if it wasnt close.

Lol. We used to watch the rear support guys run back to the bunkers as we smoked cigarettes and laughed. It was always a joy coming back to the FOB. No point in hiding, you couldn't outrun fate. :)

@S0N0FLIBERTY Lol we used to do the same thing when we were in the stagin lanes ready to head out for the night. Sit and watch all the contractors and rear echelon guys go running, putting on achs and iotv's. We were all pissed cause it would interupt the game of bribbage we were playing before we rolled out :). Like you said though can't out run fate.
