yeah girls can play cello! how sexist is that? millions of girls play cello! although most of the cellos in my middle school orchestra are boys now that i think about it... but that's like saying only girls can play violin! gosh people!

To hexgirlz415, if you truly want to learn to play the cello or flute (or both) don't allow anyone to keep you from your dreams. Not even family. I hope your mom gives you some encouragement along the way. Perhaps, someday it will be you playing to audiences around the world. Good luck.
