the tempo is actually perfect, if not a bit too slow actually. The original piece by Mozart is supposed to be around a 200 BPM. So, incfact, those of you whining about the too fast tempo are actually opposite!

wow. our HIGHSCHOOL orchestra probably couldn't handle a piece like that. they played very well, good dynamics and expression. and FOUR BASSES! for a middle school that is quite a few! ( i am our HS's ONLY string bass player)

I was smiling broadly throughout this. This is a wonderful little known symphony of the 12 year old Mozart, and it is played with such expression by these youngsters. Thank you for making my day with your performance of this music. I have always loved the odd modulations in the recap starting at 4:00.

Yes, I think that the kids could identify with the music more when they were told that it was composed by someone that was their age.

There were 18 cellos in the 7th grade orchestra that year.

our school's stringed orchestra is playing this
and we all play at a very high level. We have students that have been asked to join our local symphony but i have to say this is nearly as good as ours.
