I'm pretty sure the more expensive simmons drumpads back in the 80's could do this already. You'd be suprised what kind of electronic/midi technology they had in the late 80's.

@bobbieholbrook haha I did too. Either a guitar or bass. Carzy when he hits the first note on the upbeat it plays the bass note.
