  • In this video you can see clearly the difference between "fast" and "run".

    Richter is fast, Cziffra is running (but he is not faster then Richter).

    I will never understand why Cziffra has always to run...

  • Well, all three are extraordinary technically. However, there needs surely to be a sense of poetry, of fluidity and repose despite the obvious challenges of this immensely challenging etude. Lhvevinne combines the technical mastery so (apparently) easily and it is justly regarded as a benchmark. Richter is also astonishing but it still remains predominantly a study; the poetry happens only with the closing chords. Cziffra- a magnificent brilliant showman but no intropsection. There are others!

  • I prefer Richter.

  • listen also to Ivo Pogorelich performance of this etude in Chopin piano competition.I like his interpritation the most
