This is a different version of this tune then the one I knew. I heard this as part of a two part series called Benny Goodman, Thesaurus on the old Sunbeam records label
This was recorded on July 1, 1935- at the tail end of that historic session when Goodman recorded "Sometimes I'm Happy", "King Porter Stomp", and "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" (vocal by Helen Ward), arranged by Fletcher Henderson.
Benny Goodman = Ledgend up there with the Glen Miller, Bing Crosby, Frank Astaire and Frank Sinatra. LOVE THIS!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE FROM AUSTRALIA, QUEENSLAND!!!! :)
This is really not a '40s tune as it was recorded in July of 1935. Flip side was Tommy Dorsey with Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, originally on a Victor Orthophonic record.
man, where have these days gone :/ (dreamie eyes staring down the Christmas tree and fireplace with stockings all over)

What happened to all the syncopation in music these days? This version is chalk full of syncopation and it's AWESOME!
