He was way to rough on the transmission in reverse. The oil does not pump through the transmission near as much in reverse, rather than in the forward gears. What a no-no for this beautiful car.

@laughingharry These Mercedes started in second gear from a stop due to emissions and for a smoother ride. When he floored it and pressed the kickdown switch, he forced the car to use the first gear on takeoff.
