ASHLEY MILLER a doyen when it came to the theatre organ world. To this day his recordings are still considered to be some of the finest ever made at Radio City Music Hall, New York...not that he confined his recorded output to this famous WurliTzer. Take a musical journey in this, the first of a two-part tribute to a legendary artist.
That is the only cut on that LP recorded at the Iris, the organ was located there from 1962 until early 1964, maybe late '63, then it was installed at the senate, where it still is today.

@56Packman In that case it makes that LP even more interesting.

The recording of "Caribe Joe" was recorded at the Iris theatre in Detroit, the Fisher Wurlitzer "lived" there for two years, and never sounded better. The Senate installation never sounded as good as the Iris.

@56Packman Thank you for pointing that out. Perhaps that information accompanied the original release of the LP, but there is nothing on it to indicate that it was in fact in the Iris when Lowell, and maybe all the other artists, recorded it. Good to have the correct information, and I have made a note to that effect in my copy.
