creating tension based off of how hard, and light your hitting the drum, is difficult, doing it and sending people to another dimension, of sprials, geometric shapes, and the all seeing eye, can only be pulled off by danny carey

Maynard and Billy were roommates, and Billy showed him some songs he wrote so Maynard offered his vocals is he ever planned on making a band. Billy never even relly thought about playing on stage before this. Tool started recording Lateralus in 2000 and APC was officially formed in 1999, years after Maynard offered his voice to Billy. I'm not sure what year exactly that this conversation took place but it must have been shortly after Aenima.
