5" is normal!! especially as a STARTING point for a new corset.

I know there's lots of feedback and my input might be worthless at this point, but different shape corsets can be very differently sized, but going from a 28 to 22 is a HUGE difference. You definitely should try a 26 or 24 first. If the $79 was comfortable, get another one in the same design at 26" and slowly go through it.

Hi, if you have back pain or a curved spine, buying cheap off the rack corsets is not such a good idea. Look at bishonenrancher's tutorials to find out how to measure for an asymmetrical body and how to make a custom fit corset. The corsets you mention are sold by resellers. They get their corsets, as do orchard and most other online sellers from punk69. Best of luck.

you are very hot with corset

That pillow moved! Oh wait...that's her dog!
Where did you get the other corset from I have a meschantes corset and it also makes my stomach look poofy I'm so disappointed and I spent my money so please if you can help me find a cheaper better corset.

@blunoshi i got the better one from orchard corsets, it was like 79$ but you can get discount codes if you 'like' their facebook page. no poofy stomach with their corsets however they must be broken in with extreme care in order for them to retain their structural integrity. their busks are harder than meschantes, at least on the 2 that ive ordered from them, and pay attention to the levels of curviness (levels 1-2-3) for each corset that orchard has for a better fit

When you say the 28" is too big what do you mean it's too big? If you are wearing a 22" with a 5" gap in the back that is 27" so a 26" would work leaving a 1" gap in the back and the 24" would leave 3" gap in the back. It's a matter of preference on what you want.
Try this put the measuring tape on under the corset with the ends sticking out the busk and see what you measure under the corset and go from there.
Look great either way!

@bluemissytiger by too big i mean that fully closed it no longer relieves any of my my severe chronic pain. a corset needs to be pretty tight to help with it and immobilize the torso. ive ordered a 24 inch, its in the mail now. measuring tape under the corset as you have said is the best for the pain at 26.5 inches. which i cannot get with the 28 inch. i think i must have lost some weight, stress of midterms and all. unless i lose more weight, i wont go smaller than 24 inches.

@squiggyflop Then yes a 24" is perfect. Most people want the corset closed in the back but in reality you need the gap in the back to allow space for the spine.
I understand what you mean by back pain. I have osteoarthritis and fusion of the L4 and L5 vert so I live in constant pain...until I have the corset on!! Immediate pain relief. Wearing the corset will assist in losing weight cause you don't eat as much. post a vid when you get your new one cant wait to see it!
Hugs! XOXOXO

@bluemissytiger oh i hope i wont lose much more weight, i cant afford a new wardrobe.. ive got a 9 level spinal fusion myself. it will be some time before i post a video of the new corset, i kinda want it to be broken in first so it wont look so odd. because during the breaking in process i will only tighten it maybe 2 inches. after its broken in though i will be sure to post a video.. most people want it closed?? not me i think it looks weird closed, at least on me it does..
