  • I think many people don't get the point. It's about how a single human being can bring a great change for the better.

  • I guess the people complaining about this talk missed the whole point of TED talks. She hammered it in, that with her willingness to change her surroundings and noticing the wrong around her life, she changed her view and others changed around her. WE can ALL do this if we choose to make a change. Stop complaining and make that change.

  • i dont let anybody enter my mind with dirty feet...........mahatama gandhi

  • You can just feel the energy and the strength of that woman. Incidentally, I'm from Sri Lanka and I had the good fortune of meeting a previous inmate of a Sri Lankan prison who was reformed through the prison education system here. He explained how his knowledge improved dramatically and now he meditates daily and is a model citizen.

  • Hats off to you Ms. Kiran Bedi...

  • One tough woman.

  • kiran bedi = knavish lady

  • Women get extra help and support from everyone. Charity donations for a prison, sure if its a woman organising it. Also, females get treated gentler by everyone. So she doesn't need to waste so much energy "being tough" and has more energy left over to get change made.

Its anti-male sexism that holds men back from making change. A woman can change a system, but a system refuses to change for a man, and he gets rejected, thrown out, trampled, and has to create a new system elsewhere.

  • @TimeGod12 I am interested to know who those Indian friends are. Damn, your Indian friends are very ignorant about her it seems.

  • Beautiful woman, you have made such a difference to so many people's lives. What an inspiration. I am a vipassana meditator myself and it is my dream to have regular meditation courses established in New Zealand prisons.

  • Kiran bedi Rocks
