Actually, I'm quite disappointed...I forgot it existed when writing that up. It certainly deserves being added on that list.

@kirant Wasn't Infinite Ryvius one of the top mecha animes too in 90s lol... too bad not many know of it.

Nadesico is one of those series that goes for a "wow thats surprisingly deep" reaction imo. Though I think most people would only watch it for its comedy and action.

@Noodle1423 Actually I quite liked both old and new namely Evangelion (dark/moody), Nadesico (Philosophical/Comedy), Code Geass (Tactical). Its unfair to just split the world into pre 2000 and post 2000, since both have its highlights.

To this day, I'm still shocked as to how many terrific mecha anime came out in the late 90's.
Evangelion, Nadesico, GaoGaiGar, Vandread...4 big names off the top of my head. We really were spoiled those days, huh?
