i saw this when i was 13 years old on a Saturday night @ 1am in the morning. I attributed the dream-like sequences to the time I watched it while bleary-eyed. I then rented it a decade later and watched it @ 3 in the afternoon only to discover it had absolutely nothing to do with the time of day that I watched it - great movie.

You can see a lot of Dan O'Bannon's inspiration for some aspects of Alien in this - especially in the beach ball alien scenes. Great flick.
