The Royal Thai Navy's Chao Phraya royal frigate was seen moored in the bay of Cape Panwa in front of the head quarters of the Royal Thai Navy Third Fleet and fired a 21 gun salute during the time that HM the King graciously granted a mass audience at the Chakri Maha Prasart in the Royal Palace in Bangkok. The grand ceremony was in respect to the beloved monarch of Thailand.
Meanwhile in the nearby Kata Bay on the west side of the island which is the base for the 21st Phuket King's Cup Regatta, the biggest yachting event in Asia, they also held a very special ceremony in tribute to HM the King who was a gold medal winner in the South East Asian or SEA Games 40 years ago. All 103 participating sailing boats took part in the special sail-past of the Royal Thai Navy's ship floating in the Bay. The activity was organized for the 2nd year to join the national celebrations of HM the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary. You could hear the foreign sailors singing Happy Birthday from their yachts:

Some excited local residents were also able for the first time to enjoy the sail-past activity and they said they were proud of such an event happening in Phuket, as one of them expressed her fondness for His Majesty and shouted out Long Live the King.
