We Love Cigarettes
A love of nicotine unites all peoples across the globe, regardless of colour, wealth or creed. Where religion and politics have failed tobacco has succeeded, but at what cost? For over 50 years people have been knowingly paying for the pleasure of tobacco with their lives, making man's fatal tryst with the cigarette one of the strangest love affairs ever.
But as smoking bans in the US and Europe abound, what is happening in poorer nations? Their love affair is still in its first flush - one third of the world's cigarettes are smoked in China alone. And globally the tobacco industry is still worth $430 billion and going strong.
Intrigued by our planet's obsession with the cigarette, we decided to capture our love affair with nicotine across the world on one single day.

  • Thumbs up if you smoked a cigarette while watching this

  • Funny how the "evil" smoking corporations seemed like much nicer, informed people as opposed to the "good guys" who seemed ignorant and biased.

  • hahaha the heart surgeon is explaining to us, like it's the easiest thing in the world, how to do heart surgery.

at that moment, I'd rather be Dr. Sinclair the anesthesiologist smoking :D

  • "the first thing I'd do in the morning before i put a stitch of clothing on would be to have a cigarette, dangling from my lips and that cigarette was stuck there all day every day for 30 odd years"...Damn, that must have been a big cigarette.

  • We're all going to die. I personally don't want to live until 'a ripe old age'. The idea of living into my 80's and 90's and having my mind go scares me far more than dying in my 60's.

  • radioactive cigaret WTF

  • Idiots, pure profound stupidity/idiocy/ignorance against healing/harmony/health/hospitality/hospitalization.. within/without..

  • Started smoking during my first year of uni: figured it would be a good way to make friends and socialize at parties. Quit at the end of my first year but picked it up again at the start of the second year when I got a job: everyone smoked during their breaks. I've quit again as part of my 2012 new year's resolution. I've quit for nearly 2 months now. I don't have any withdrawals except when I'm very drunk at parties or during breaks at work.

  • I don't smoke because i need to, i smoke because i want to. i dont give a crap about if it makes my life shorter i just want to live it to the fullest

  • I would love to see these people that claim they can quit at any time to just go a few days without a cigarette. Anyone that says that with a smile on their face has obviously never felt the effects of chemical withdraw.

  • How the fuck did all of those men not "believe" that nicotine was addictive?!

  • Fuck it, I wish cigarettes were cheap. Fuck this shit. Fuck this thievery.
