There are people in America who have no food, no shelter, little safety, and little assistance. Can we help our own?

  • I heard that 1/3 of homeless people are mentally ill, 1/3 are working without enough money to rent an apartment or room, and 1/3 choose to be homeless. This video is especially for the 1/3 who are mentally ill. But, they're not all like that.

  • I was the 1/3 that are working without enough money to afford a home. it was rough..

  • @raverella When I was homeless, it looked like homelessness was especially not fun for women. They are the first ones I want to help with a new shelter. I wish you the best.

  • I am an unemployed 40 year old female that has mental illness. I went to the homeless shelter for dinner tonight. I feel so happy and thankful to have family to keep me safe and warm, but my sadness for the many others who do not have the same far outweighs it. See my 2 part video "My public apology"

  • I heard that U.S. tax dollars are used to pay corporations, like the one associated with the Pilsbury Dough Boy, to expand their businesses outside of the U.S. The figure I heard was 1.5 billion dollars. Wowser, that might just be enough to help more worthwhile causes like helping the mentally ill in America.

  • @anutuk why does the govenment have to give the corporations so much money? should not it be the other way arround?

  • @sopka1985 I don't know.

  • wow very sad. i was homeless too and my ex-family wasn't there for me........

cause they abised me severly in childhood and try to mentally screw me..so I don't go aroud them. I fele for these people...and it's disusting to know our governments love this shit because they are all satanic. Even all the way back to george washington--he was a masonic pedophile who tortured women and children. Alot of the homeless have been abused as children. The world is suffering at staggering rates these days

  • @sopka1985 No, just barely a high school graduate. I had been in fast food since I was 16 so, I had no experience doing anything else. I ended up getting pregnant from my boyfriend at the time, and then moved in with my mom in Minnesota, and was given a great job through luck and since then, it had opened many more doors up for me for other careers. I had too much pride to be "taken in" by family members, and it was an experience that I can pass onto my daughter in the future.

  • @raverella did u have a college degree or any skill?

  • @anutuk It definitely wasn't fun, but I was lucky enough to have good male friends to protect me and a few other young girls from the troubles of prostitution, rape and abuse. I never did anything illegal or prostituted for money, I just didn't make enough to get off the street... and I didn't have enough job history to get a better one. I am still friends with the small group that I stayed with on the street, we became family. <3

  • @sopka1985 I was working two jobs that payed minimum wage, but I couldn't afford living expenses on even a studio apartment. It was just me and my dog, and I didn't have a car so I had to live close to my jobs.. it was really hard.. that was ten years ago now. I have a great job and I haven't been homeless since 2002.. it gives you more drive to do better and change things for those less fortunate.

  • @raverella how did you end up working for such little money?
